The locations and management of Temporary Debris Staging and Reduction Sites (TDSRs) is one of the largest tasks of post-disaster clean-up. Omni Construction carefully selects sites that are appropriate by evaluating the topography and soil substrate conditions, thus determining the best site layout. Dumpsite operations are carried out seven days a week.
Once the dumpsite is located, Omni Construction will provide a Site Management Plan. The plan addresses the following:
- Access to site
- Safety
- Site preparation and grading
- Segregation of debris
- Traffic control procedures
After use, each TDSR site is cleared of all material and restored to its previous condition and use. Omni Construction removes and disposes of all mixed debris, construction and demolition debris, and debris residue to approved landfills. Appropriate inspectors may monitor all closeout activities as needed to ensure that all activities comply with the Debris Removal and Disposal Contract. Additional measures may be necessary to meet local, state, and federal environmental requirements because of the nature of TDSR site operations.
Omni Construction is prepared to carefully follow all federal, state, and local regulations with regard to trucks, equipment, and site management. All truck loading must comply with Department of Transportation regulations including weight limitations and covering of loads.
All trucks and equipment used to haul are mechanically loaded and capable of rapidly and mechanically dumping its load without the assistance of other equipment. Trucks are equipped with a tailgate that will effectively contain the debris during transport, permitting filling the truck to capacity, and facilitating dumping debris without debris catching in the bed.
